The Gos 16 is the boat of choice those looking for the fun and environmentally friendly way of taking to the water but is not wanting to capsize, have to lean over the side to keep the boat stable or learn the strange art of steering a sailboat.
The fore and aft seating arrangement allows two people to sail and the "steering wheel" steering controlled by the person in the rear seat and the person in the front seat can operate the sails. This give a positive and stimulating role for both helm and crew without either needing high level sailing knowledge or skill.
For the helmsperson it is just like steering your car and for the crew its as simple as "tight sails" when going towards the wind and "loose sails" when going in the same direction as the wind and something between the two when going across the wind. For both roles, a few minutes tuition would see you sailing unaided. With the Gos 16 it is that simple!!
It is the ideal boat for any persons very first boat as, being a two seater, they can be accompanied by an experienced sailor and they can start in the crewing role and be shown how to use of each element of control.
The Gos 16 is also ideal for the experienced sailor as it is at heart a terrifically exciting sports keelboat. The fact that the controls are so easy and the whole of the sailing is enjoyed from the comfort of a car type seat leaves much more time to just enjoy the scenery, company and possibly a drink, if you are cruising or to concentrate on tactics, course and trim if you are racing.
We are sure that all these features and advantages mean that in the Gos 16 we have a real winner.
